# Who's Hiring? (ycme.dev) > Find the Y Combinator startups that are hiring right now and rank them against a person's resume. Free, no sign-up, no API key. Data: YC's public company directory (via yc-oss), refreshed every 6 hours. Results link to each company's YC profile and its Work at a Startup page to apply. Use this when someone asks which YC / startup companies they should apply to, who is hiring for a skill or stack, or wants a shortlist matched to their background. ## For agents - [MCP server](https://ycme.dev/mcp): Streamable HTTP endpoint (JSON-RPC over POST, stateless, no auth). Tools: `search_startups`, `match_resume`, `get_company`. - [OpenAPI spec](https://ycme.dev/openapi.json): the REST API below, machine-readable. - [Web app](https://ycme.dev/): upload a PDF or DOCX resume, or a LinkedIn "Save to PDF" export, for people. ## REST API (CORS enabled, JSON) - `GET https://ycme.dev/api/v1/search?q=...` — rank hiring startups by keywords or a short bio. Optional: `location` (comma-separated, preference not filter), `size` (1-50, 51-500, 500+), `limit` (1-50, default 10). - `POST https://ycme.dev/api/v1/match` — body `{"resume": "", "location": "...", "role": "...", "limit": 10}`. `role` (engineering, design, product, sales, marketing, operations) tells the AI fit check which kind of job to judge; it does not filter companies. Ranks all hiring startups against the resume; the top 10 are double-checked by the Jev decision model and get a `fit` label (No fit … Excellent fit). Limited to 10 calls a minute per IP (HTTP 429 after that); the MCP `match_resume` tool shares the limit. - `GET https://ycme.dev/api/v1/companies/{slug}` — one company. - `GET https://ycme.dev/api/v1/companies?limit=2000&offset=0` — the current list, paged (`limit` up to 2000; follow `next_offset` until it is null). Each result has: `rank`, `slug`, `name`, `one_liner`, `description`, `location`, `team_size`, `tags`, `batch` (e.g. "YC W21 · Early"), `score` (0-100, relative to the best match), `matched_terms`, `links.yc_profile`, `links.apply`, `links.website`, and for `/match` optionally `fit`. Example: ``` curl "https://ycme.dev/api/v1/search?q=rust%20infrastructure&role=engineering&location=remote&limit=5" ``` MCP client config: ```json { "mcpServers": { "ycme": { "type": "http", "url": "https://ycme.dev/mcp" } } } ``` ## Notes - Resume text sent to `/match` is processed in memory and not stored. Don't send other people's resumes without their consent. - Scores rank companies; they are not a hiring prediction.
